Serving in her 4th year on the Introduce A Girl To Engineering Planning Committee, Yndalecia came to Monument with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M — fueled by a love for chemistry and math, and a special role model who was a successful woman in tech: her mom!

November 13 to 17, 87 Monument Chemical employees representing all US sites came together to volunteer for approx. 307 hours for our "United for Service" event. This year's theme was again food scarcity, and our eager volunteers worked at area food banks and community pantries, stuffed snack kits for local children, and more! It was a wonderful day of fun, togetherness, and giving. Thank you to our incredible volunteers!

Every season, hundreds of Meade County residents find exploration and solace among the foaming cascade of Buttermilk Creek on the park’s immersive, 2.25-mile trail. But as of this April, their experiences will be enriched by a new level of appreciation and understanding of the plants and wildlife that inhabit it.
And Monument is proud to be part of what’s to come! The Monument Brandenburg Community Advisory Council recently awarded Meade Co. Extension Homemakers with a Community Partnership Initiative (CPI) grant for their “Life on Buttermilk Falls Program,” which will truly take education outside the classroom.

So when they recognize a chemical company in this area, it’s a big deal.
And this year, Monument Chemical took that achievement to the next level. We are proud to be one of less than 100 companies across the region to earn the 2022 Union Pacific Pinnacle Award, and it wasn’t the first time we’ve made the prestigious list. But it was under some of the most impressive circumstances yet!

A few months ago, a cross-functional team at the Monument Bayport facility spent countless hours together in a conference room working their way through an intensive EcoVadis questionnaire. Led by Rick Caines, they explored and addressed every avenue needed to demonstrate the site’s commitment to sustainable practices in its operations, supply chain, and product offerings.
Thanks to the team’s tenacious approach – and the help of an excellent consultant – Monument Bayport was awarded EcoVadis Bronze status within a month.

In this stunning photo essay, Dennis Gregorius takes us into the cosmos — and around the Monument Kallo site — in a way we’ve never experienced before. As Field Coordinator at Kallo, Dennis spends most of the year sampling, servicing, and filling the site’s chemical-storage tanks. It’s work he’s been doing since 1999, initially during summers as a college student and, following graduation, as a full-time Monument employee. Dennis is an avid world traveler, primarily to South America. His most-frequent destination on that continent is Ecuador, where he’s taken approximately 12,000 photographs. We recently had the opportunity to ask him a few questions about his photo essay and his travels on Earth — and via reading and photography — to space.

With International Women and Girls in Science Day coming up on February 11, it’s a perfect time to catch up with Alexandra Bledsoe, Lead Production Engineer in the Brandenburg Polychem Unit. A native of Lexington, Kentucky, Alexandra joined Monument in 2015 immediately after graduating from the University of Kentucky with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. She had a choice of several companies to join and says the Monument colleagues she met while doing interviews were a major factor in her decision to kick off her career here: “Everyone was super friendly and encouraging, and I knew there would be many opportunities here for me to grow as an engineer.” Now, after eight years with us, she remains convinced she made the right choice.
